Hi, Charice. You're really amazing.I've watched you since that time you placed 3rd at the singing contest at the ABS-CBN and since then I did not miss a show where you were in. We were so happy to have first seen you at Ellen Degeneres show for the first time.
I have already your CD Inspiration and I read all what you've written there. I was just surprised why I did not see the name of Ellen Degeneres. What happened ? Is it just an honest mistake ? I hope so and I hope Ellen was not hurt at all. Well, for whatever reason, I am wishing you all the success in this world. We are really very proud of you. Your fans are from all ages, even us who are Lolas. I just watched your interview with Boy Abunda this morning ( TFC ). It's so emotional. I am not going to miss the continuation of your interview tomorrow where I will see your new house. I am glad for you.

This is a beautiful story. I was really disappointed that I was unable to attend. Your story and the stories and videos from other Chasters really helped me enjoy the concert even if I wasn't there.
First, I apologize for being a bit late engaging with Charise-mania, but I'm now as "smitten" as the rest of the world. Second, thank you, Jessica, for your article; I was so intrigued as to watch the show on YT. Stunning! Third, I am very familiar with David Foster, and in my opinion, having Charise perform last was Foster's classic "save the best for last." Just my opinion, but Foster was right in that Charise stole the show.
hi charice,,gud luck to i really like your first album i hope u came to toronto u have a lot of mania charice here,,and im one of this im so cracy to your voice gud luck sweety girl god blesss,,, its me wilma
Nice article, Jessica. Like you, it took me a while to verbalize this young girl's effect on me, since this is the first time someone has had such an effect on me. It's not her mind-blowing talent per se, but what she has been through to get to where she is now.
Like you, I have also been of the belief that she has a higher purpose than just succeeding for her own sake, and this is to inspire and uplift others.
When viewed in this context, all that she has been through makes sense, the Lord moving in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform. He gave her a great gift, a generous heart and a fighting spirit, and let her be subjected to her own share of trials in her early years.
This trial by fire has developed her character earlier and further than normal kids, which is evident in many ways: David Foster said that she does not crack under pressure, and the more that you lay on her, the better she gets - this comes from her experience that a good performance means food on the table. Her humility, respect and down-to-earth personality indicate as well that she is well-grounded with a good core set of values.
When she starts to sing, it's like she turns on a switch, and nothing can distract her. It's as if she developed through her younger years a shell around her that she hides behind, in order to cope with the harsh realities and trauma of her younger years. I believe that when she sings nowadays, she is still in her shell, this time not to hide from reality, but to be in a state of concentration and flow while she does what she does best.
Aside from forging her character, she was allowed to go through those trials so she can be an inspiration to us. I wonder if she will have the same magnetic appeal to us if she had an easy life. Will she have been as driven, as she was to put food on the table by singing, if her dad did not abandon them? Will we be as fascinated with her, just for her talent? What if she went the route that normal kids take, and pursued her education?
She is indeed heaven-sent, and we are lucky to experience her in our lifetime. But let us not stop here - in the Lord's eyes we are all equal, and everyone was given gifts that we will answer for at the end of time. Let us take her example and ponder what these gifts are, and what we are making out of them. Let us take her inspiration and dare to pursue our dreams. And finally, let us pay it forward by lighting our own candle and being an inspiration to others.
" ...And remember the Lord your God...for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth....." (Deuteronomy 8:14). God bless you and your family.

Looking forward to the day that i'll be there!
